Peacock Jewelry Symbolism

I have always been drawn to peacock designs and colors.    The shades of blues and greens always seemed so mystical to me.   The use of peacock designs in jewelry goes back many years.   It is still popular in today's modern fashions.

What is the symbolism of the peacock motify in design?   Going to back to the ancient Hebrews, peacocks were symbols of creation.   In Greek and Roman times, peacocks symbolized vision and immortality.   In Hinduism, peacocks are symbols of patience, kindness, and good luck.   In Asian spirituality, peacocks symbolize love and kind-heartedness.   In Christianity, the peacock symbolizes resurrection, renewal, and immortality.

Below are some examples of how you can you use peacock symbolism to enhance your jewelry designs.

Etsy seller Ashley Anne Bennett uses the colorful peacock motify to add dimension to her beautiful cuff bracelets.

A tribal-inspired designed by by Emma Stine Limited.

And a re-purposed vintage bracelet by AriDesigns on Etsy, using all vintage-elements.

I hope this post inspires you to create some fabulous pieces with your own jewelry designs.
Happy Peacocks!!!
