What is Steampunk? Steampunk is a movement started in the 1980s whose style is influenced by 19th century art and fiction, including genres of fantasy, goth, and historical fiction. The steampunk label also applies to various artistic works set in fantasy worlds that rely heavily on steam-powered technology. Steampunk is popular with both men and women, whose appeal seems in part due to the romantisicm of an earlier era, combined with a punk rock aesthetic. All in all, a very cool thing.
